Should prove interesting to see the necropsy results and what the runner has to say.

Necropsy: Jogger suffocated mountain lion in life-or-death struggle

if true , he must be an expert or perhaps a soldier.

Heard it was an 80 pound lion. Lots of claws and fangs, but not a big one.

80lbs or not the fugger is going to be a handful, whoever the guy is he's a tough somebitch but then when your life is on the line a lot of things can be accomplished.

A female 80 lb lion can kill the biggest bull elk on the mountain.

80 lb leopard have killed untold numbers of people.

Id venture to say that is one more tough and lucky jogger.

Any dude that survives an attack and kills a lion is a badass!

A cross country runner from a school we competed against was killed by a Mtn Lion many moons ago.

Hell yes it is. I would hate to even try to choke out a damned domestic housecat.

No joke. I would rather take on a dog than a cat. Big cats are on of the best killers on the planet.

I'd rather get one hunting with hounds.

I wouldn't want to have to fight off an 80 pound dog. An 80 pound cat has far more weapons.

How about do we put you in a locked room with a 30 lb bobcat and see who comes out alive?

Or a 50# wolverine.

80# of pissed off mountain lion is not something I care to go “hands on” with. 😉

700LH I am, well was, with you on this one. I clearly thought there was more to the story. Happened just north of Boulder, CO - the Berkley of the Rockies. Doesn't get any more liberal than Boulder in Colorado. I was certain that some sort of weapons was used and the news conveniently left that out to keep people from wanting to pack heat in local parks. The latest news is saying the animal was suffocated, exactly how is still in question as the jogger is in the hospital recovering. The name of the jogger hasn't been released yet either, but I'm guess his last name is Norris.

There is no credible way he strangled it, or broke its neck. Knife or gun?
