There is a local auction here ending today. If anyone wants this let me know. Its cheap. Has a lot of wear but is supposedly a Savage!!

I think that would certainly qualify for the advanced Savage collector!

Wasn't there a guy here from upstate New York someplace who had a bizarre collection of Savage non-gun gizmos?

I'd like to find some of their vintage ads, specifically one saying "this one's my favorite" or words to that effect..

I've got that one for the 99 in a frame. It was a 1945'ish ad, and it is my favorite ad. It shows up on eBay quite often.

I like that ad! Makes me want to wear tweed with a pocket hanky and smoke a briar pipe. It should be the dress code for all Savage get-togethers.

Yea. Actually met the man once. He was from Port Lyden, NY. He had washing machines, lawn mowers, kitchen appliances, all kinds of Savage gizmos. Bout everything Savage cept guns.

Be damned if I can remember his name or call sign though...

At one of your get togethers someone is going to have to set up a table with a display of Savage made washing machines and lawn mowers.

There was a washing machine at the last one, and I think we've seen most of the rest.. though not when you get into the auto side of their stuff.

Been thinking of firing up that Savage weight reducer/vibrator. With all the cold up here this winter its been hard keeping the extra pounds off.

Figured you'd be out snowshoeing around a trap line or 5!

It would need to be set up permanently in a carni trailer with fold-down sides. That kind of display would be a PIA to move around and set up from fest to fest.

...hmmm, I have an old trailer that's not being used... think a subaru would pull a 25' Avion filled with washing machines and mowers and rifles? Air shocks maybe..

Hmmm, I could turn it into a rolling laundromat and start charging by the load!
