I've lost so many that I asked for hunter orange - seems that's a NO. Lost one, and ran over it with a bobcat. Lost another, and a horse had stepped on it. Ran about 90 yearlings over another one, in a corral alley. I could go on, but I'm sure you get the picture!

I sprayed mine DayGlo Orange right after I got them. Losing those bustards is easy and EXPENSIVE>
First, it's better for people to know your hearing is wrecked than for them to think you're dumb (unless you WANT them to think that).
Second, get the custom molds, not the earplugs for the speaker. The plugs itched me, and I've always worn earplugs because my hearing has been rotten since birth. But the Costco molds went right in and fit perfect and hold well. Get them as DEEP as you DARE. The closer the speaker is to your eardrum, the better the sound.
One other caveat is, lots of aids don't come with a volume control on a wheel, or even an on-off switch. That's a real pain because I'm still in noisy environments at least part of the time and I have to either pop the battery, or take them out and put on protection.

Mine will be rechargeable BTEs, no canal mold. I didn't ask what brand. I just told him he's the expert and to order whatever is best for me. My only choice, literally, was what color.

I've used Costco hearing aids for many years and am totally delighted with both the products and service; both before and after the sale. When I bought my last ones, my lady at Costco, a sweet lady named Mary, asked me what color I wanted on the behind-the-earpiece. Automatically, I answered, "Heck, brown to match my hair." Mary retorted, "Steve, my love, you haven't had brown hair for a duck-age (private joke) … let's try white." <GRIN> I chose white and it's a perfect match. God Bless, Steve

That's the type I'm wanting to get. Been about 5 years since I got the behind the ear tube models. 1st set I had last couple years AD were the mold ones. Any of you all have friends or relatives inthe military. Tell them people to have " rountinely exposed to hazardous noise" entered into their audiology exam data Also 3m contracted with DOD for earplugs from 03 to 15 They were bogus plugs and didnt work shutting down higher decibels But you could hear normal conversation with em Everyone thought they was great..... Until hearing issues began. Better to get in the program hearing wise while AD than try and fight VA after the fact. Had my bell rung many times. Between hearing loss and constant tinnitus 20% of my VA rating is hearing loss issues.

A few years ago, I lost one while working on a pasture fence. Incredibly, I found it the next day, but it had been thoroughly chewed up by a goat. I took it back to Costco and they said the warranty covers that. They gave me a shiny new one. The Costco service here has been outstanding.
