Favorites or best?
Jimmy Stewart, Henry Fonda, Lee Marvin, these guys would fall into both categories fro me.
There were also a ton of supporting actors that really were loaded with talent.
Ken Curtis, Ben Johnson...

Impossible for me to pick just 3. There have been so many great actors and many have been named. Lately I have really liked Mel Gibson, Tom Hardy and an all time favorite , Tom Selleck. But all those previously mentioned have been favorites as well and have reminded me of some I had forgotten.

John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, Robert Duval. In that order. I'm in with the first 2, picking a third makes it pretty difficult.

Other than “that” Mrs Lincoln, how did you enjoy the play?

Some of my favorites and a role that shows their skill.
Robert Duval as Gus in Lonesome Dove. As good as acting gets. Gene Hackman in Bite the Bullet. The scene on horseback where he describes the charge up San Juan Hill. Clint Eastwood in Unforgiven with Gene as Little Bill Morgan Freeman in Million Dollar Baby with Clint and of course Shawshank. Steve McQueen in Papillon Jack Nicholson in Chinatown

I agree with most of those...
But Will Ferrell has to be included.

Been recording and watching the old "Wanted: Dead or Alive" series reruns currently being aired on the Inspiration satellite channel. Steve McQueen was already such an obvious standout talented actor even back then that it is no surprise he wound up as one of the all time acting greats.
