Note - I do want a balanced budget. That said:
"F'q the old people- they are just going to die soon anyway
F'q the crazies....hell, they are crazy. Who cares?
F'q the kids - they don't vote, and don't need no edication to play phone/computer games. Can't spell worth chit when texting anyway. Besides, I got fired from the Public School system. Paybacks are hell, eh?
But we all have to have our PFD's and preferably, higher ones. I promised."

Seems to me everyone wants to be a fiscal conservative until it's time to be a fiscal conservative. Massive cuts need to be made.

It’s a negotiation. Dunleavy has proposed a budget that fits income. How long has it been since that’s happened?
That said, the final budget will be significantly higher.

Liberals are always the first to crack. Especially teachers.
Tough chit. Cut em till they bleed. So far he's doing exactly what I elected him to do.

Yeah dumping more money into a education system that is rated dead last, is the only way to fix it.. I'm assuming the first one is refering too the Medicare that everyone that knew anything told Alaska not too expand, but ol governor walker did, now the state is bleeding money.. and they are all crazy one is in reference privatizing API?
Then STFU. The rest of your statement is superflous bullshit with no real bearing on this discussion other than to massage your own ego. Suckin' on my titties like you wanted me.

Good times ahead.
Social media cracks me up. You'd think it was the end of the world here in Alaska because someone proposes we live within our means.

Read a piece by an historian about how different Alaska is and we just have to keep paying. Never a mention of a single acceptable cut, everything was a Dunleavey slur and only one paragraph even attempted to supply argument.
Pretty obvious D is doing it the right way.

PFD is set aside money, not part of the budget.

No amount of money can fix what's going on in Alaska as far as families and education goes. Sad but true.

I'm sure others will agree, ever since this proposed budget every school administrator, teacher, mayor has voiced their opinion the kids will be hurt by this budget.. I'm sitting in my truck hearing this on the radio thinking. These kids are already been hurt by this second rate education that we as property tax paying homeowners, business owners fork out to the Burroughs on top of the state money they get. I think Alaska, is in the top 5 far as money spent per student. Also when my kid was still in high school, since she is enrolled in a federally recognized tribe, the school district was getting federal money for her as well.

I have three young children in the school system here. I do not see where all the money spent is actually being used in a positive manner at any level of the school system, particularly the bloated University system.
Yup.

Not sure if this will fit but, I have often wondered why there isn't a Mutual fund that is piggy-backed to the to the Alaska fund. What if we could buy shares in a fund that is piggy backed on the State fund? The darn thing has grown at a wonderful rate and if we could invest in it, We could make our investment grow better than putting our kids College money in the bank or where ever. I know that Canada has a fund on a similar premise. I would just as soon put my kids money in Alaska. Just a thought.

Still wondering why we need a bridge over the inlet. I don't think people will take to a toll road.Maybe we should fix the port.
