The final prices were right in there:
.32/40 SRC - $3990 .38/55 SRC - $4000 .25/35 SRC - $3080 A2 engraved - $5000 Perris Special - $980 - didn't meet reserve (again)
Pizza, Stever and me were all outbid by someone named "motherwell" he (or she) was winning bidder on all four of the above. Anyone know who this is?

By the way, the above carbines weren't discussed on this forum while the auctions were active it sure didn't help keep prices down. I believe the Perris rifle was discussed - and that sure didn't help it!

When it comes to choosing friends....I'm at an age where I'd rather have 4 quarters than 100 pennies.

'Still think that "Perris Special" was a steal for a special order, scroll engraved little carbine. Yes it had minor issues but... where you gonna get another one??? Wait till the next one comes up for auction... Motherwell just paid about the basic reserve price, certainly not much more. Congratulations on some great investments!

Steve,
how many weeks were those guns up for sale?
With one or two renewals of the auction?
Man, somebody should have offered him a price for the lot after they didn't sell for the Reserve last time around!
I still can't believe somebody wasn't willing to give him a $1000.- for the Perris!

Purely an issue of money Jed. I'd have loved to have had that whole group of SRC's. But, prices are not something that is inconsequential to me.

Boltman, are you sure you don't know who this "motherwell" is?? Don't you think it is not uncommon for people to use more than one username on these auction sites? I think "motherwell" is someone we know and hear often from on this forum!!........and in time I am sure he will identify himself.

Larry Motherwell....???? Google search.....????
All said, the Savage 99 is a genius of a rifle. Although no longer produced, it remains highly revered, as it was the foundation from which Arthur Savage built one of America's great gun companies. >> (Jon Y. Wolfe) <<
