This went down a week ago. Their time in business is short. Never owned one, never will. They could have talked their way out of all of it but the fact they donated to out of state gun grabbing politicians cant be explained away. Hearing Greshams podcast with the benchmade rep was the most embarrassing attempt at bullchit I've ever heard. Let me know where they bury em so I can piss on their grave!

A total of $7900. Rolling my eyes. I'm TOTALLY SURE Benchmade is giving these guys' campaigns a few thousand bucks so they can pass anti-gun legislation. Benchmade would never make a donation simply to try and get a little influence to help with various manufacturing and business concerns, right?

So 7900 is a paltry sum when it comes to anti gun legislation, but not when helping business concerns? WTF are equating?

And the NRA gave $19,376 to Democrat congressional candidates in 2018. Don't call me a "whore", it's disrespectful to women.

My understanding is that the total amount of political donations made was around 1.2 million, over a period of 8-10 years. A very small amount went to a republican. Maybe 1/2 a percent, the rest went to support democrats.

My apologies,I cannot find a link to substantiate the 1.2 million figure. I did run down where they donated $3500 to a republican years back. The remainder of about $33,000 all went to democrats.

Nope.
All companies donate to local politicians.
Guess which party is in power in Portland, Oregon?
"Our recent political contributions have been in favor of state-level legislation supporting a strong manufacturing and business environment here in Oregon while protecting knife owners across the United States in the form of the Interstate Transport Act."
Why are you posting here, don't you have a pole to go sit on somewhere? Loser...

I guess the Democrats Benchmade gave $7900 to must have been pro-knife. I don't know if they are pro-knife or not. But what I do know is they sit on a committee that has control of Defense spending. I also know that they (BenchMade) sells a lot of knives to the Military. So as the saying goes, The squeaky wheel gets the grease. Does this make me happy as a gun owner? Of course not. Do I understand that military sales are huge to BenchMade? Of course. Do you know if those receiving money from BenchMade are helping keep auto's legal in OR? That could be another thing to think about.

Mark Begich, Joaquin Jackson, and Heller resistance... Three huge reasons to worry about the NRA.

Heinrich of NM is on the Senate Armed Services Committee. But they don't have control of defense spending. Only the House of Representatives has control of the spending budget. Udall isn't even on the Armed Serv Committee. He's on a couple of sub committees, but he ain't much of a big boy there. If Benchmade was so Pro 2nd, why didn't they contribute to ANY republicans on that committee? FWIW, if I thought my business future depended on anti-gun political contributions, I would double down with equal donations to conservative, pro-gun politicians. Benchmade did not.

Yeah that’s the bottom line right there. Goosey’s argument has merit as far as it goes but it doesn’t go far enough because it’d be easy for them to not merely avoid appearing anti-gun but to be clearly pro gun if they gave more money to such candidates... ...AND told the police to auction firearms or at least take them someplace else for destruction...
