You will like the 760, especially if the trigger is nice. In 6mm it should be very nice to shoot. I always like the sentiment of taking a deer with an old gun that was made for hunting, especially when it was the gun of a good friend. Good luck with it.

I know this is going way back for you guys but I just had to comment on this one. I came across my first Handi rifle aboout 15 + years ago. A 26" barreled .280 with green laminated stock. It was just one of those that I couldn't pass up. It turned out to be pretty accurate although a little heavy. That is the only Handi I own but for a very reasonable price you could buy additional barrels rifle & shotgun, so I added several, Best light weight shotgun (with the shotgun stock) ever. Kick is terrible with 3.5" turkey loads, I use 3". Got a 45-70 barrel one year and took a Canadian black bear & a nice 8 point back home the same year. They were great rifles & shotguns especially if you were on a budget. To bad they dropped the spare barrel program. On another note, I am a sucker for NEF Handi rifles. Gun show this weekend. Guy had a new in box .308 Survivor. Said he would let it go for dealer cost being he had ordered it for someone who never picked it up. I know what dealer cost is. He was correct in his figure. I came home with it. After I mounted a 3X9X50 scope it is in the safe getting acquainted with the other Handi rifles and assorted inhabitants of my gun safe.

Hey-Has anybody heard anything from Goalie? Haven't seen him on here in a while. If anyone does, tell him to get ahold of Gophergunner. I've got a reloading manual of his I need to get back to him.

Thank you tzone. I did not build it but finished some of the inside, made several trips to the dump and after a few years of collected & donated "cool stuff" it becomes your own. Now it is a matter of upkeep and no more donations. And just looking at the lake, sometimes from inside sometimes from the boat. Those pics Jim, are exactly what my mind pictures when I think Canadian lake cabin.

You see a lot of strange pics on your trail cam but how about a headless deer? Sorry, I haven't been able to get out of the house so no fishing topics to add. Obviously it's not, just trying to find something different as things seem to be kinda slow here. There is an old apple orchard more or less in my side yard and the deer start showing up there as soon as the apples start dropping on the ground, ripe or not they don't care.

been fighting deep snow in MN, worst trouble lately is the crushing weight of the snow. It's smashing some buildings, so we've been busy taking snow off of a lot of roofs any way we can.
Something clever here.

Dave, I saw the dog running around on the roof. That's different. We have had a lot of snow here also but clearly not that much. Our house is up on a hill so the wind tends to keep the roof from building up to much. Are you having any issues/concerns with it at the cabin?

The best sauna experience I ever had was an Indian(Native American) Hot rocks Sauna in a big ol, teepee. You heat the rocks on a fire and put them in the center of the teepee and ladel cold water and sprinkle on the hot rocks. Then at the end you get out of the teepee and they pour cold water on you. Totally awesome ! I did it with my boys at Philmont a couple times.
It's actually called an Indian Sweat Lodge.

The cabin could be flattened, I'm not sure, haven't been out there for a while. I'm hoping the snow slid off the roof, it's a tin roof and it usually does slide.

I've been taking snow off the house roof, it's deep and heavy. We are supposed to get another 6 to 8" of heavy wet snow starting tonight, that would just bee too much on top of the 2' I already have. Some areas of my roof were 4' deep with snow. This is the garage roof that I'm working on, attached to the house.
Something clever here.
