Saw this yesterday. Telling.

It was a pretty disgusting betrayal of his base when he responded to chants of build the wall with a nonsense argument that business is so good, we need foreigners to come in and take the new jobs. Absent that, these would actually become good paying positions for Americans.

It is a betrayal. I am starting to sour.

It's got to the point where I just shake my head and laugh.

I'm not at all opposed to legal immigration. Which is exactly what the wall is design to support.

I do find the argument that we need Mexicans to do the work Americans won't do rather odd. I was in Sydney, Australia for a sales meeting last week, and I didn't see any "minority" looking types cleaning rooms or on the wait staff at the hotel where the conference was held (hopefully, some resident Aussies will chime in). It is, however, my understanding they actually pay decent wages down there.

America is already taking in a million legal immigrants a year,....10 million in the last 10 years. Trump now wants to up that number.

The truth is if the 8 year assault on the second amendment isn’t over as he stated and immigration enforcement along with the wall isn’t a priority Trump is no better than any politician elected on a national level thus far. This isn’t what we voted for.

My comments are always based on what the president says or does.

I didn't say we didn't need to be a bit more selective about the process in terms of education and skills, but if our nation has a shortage of roofers and landscapers, then guess what?

Oh yeah, one thing about Australia, the Uber drivers were mostly foreigners of some sort (I had a Vietnamese, Indian, Egyptian, and Brazilian Uber driver). Though I'm willing to bet Uber drivers average more than minimum wage. Apparently white Australians aren't willing to be Uber drivers..............? Can't blame them. Everybody drives on the wrong side of the road, even worse, the steering wheel is on the wrong damn side of the car!

If Americans could/would fill these jobs, they would not go begging, as they are. Merit based immigration is nothing to fear. Saying so counters the leftists.
