Anyone running HPGs smaller packs without a belt?

Looking for something I can use biking and hiking. Possibly warm weather hunting too when there’s no chance of having to haul any meat.

These look like what I think I want, Umlindi leading the way, but I’ve never really used a beltless pack before.

Are they stable enough with say, 20 lbs or less? And do they bounce/move around enough to be an aggravation?

Reason for going beltless, I’ve never found a small pack that fits my super long torso. Belts always end up way too high and i just tuck them under and never use them. My Kifaru Duplex is comfortable and fits me well, but doesn’t work on a bike and overkill for a lot of situations.

Great bag for biking and hiking. My buddy has the Umlindi. I am going to be buying one. Zero issues with not having a hip belt. I tried his Downhilling at the Bikepark and loved it.

I have had my umlindi for about a year. I got it for purposes you describe and couldn’t be happier with it.

I have a belt for my Umlindi, but have yet to use it. Between the weight I carry in it and how well it carries, I just haven’t needed it. Great small pack.

I like beltless packs if I can be disciplined enough not to overload them. Overloaded, beltless .. makes for a long, painful day.

My most common beltless pack is a Badlands Pursuit. It's nice to put a couple things in and otherwise leave empty so I have a place to relocate clothing to as the day heats up.

I've looked at the HPG tarahumara. I'm not exactly sure what I need it for, but I'm pretty sure I need one.

We don't need a lot of things we accumulate in life! But sometimes those things are nice to have.
