Building a new toy and I’m on the hunt for a tikka T3 RH in a short action with standard 308 bolt face. Nothing fancy, used and abused is fine as I just want the action/bottom metal. Can grab one off gunbroker for sub 5 but wanted to see if anyone had one.

I don't think Tikka builds a T3 in a short action.

They're all built on a long action.

You are correct. They just use a different magazine (with spacer) and bolt stop.

I’m aware of this..... but the LA and SA calibers are different.....

As you guys even stated, the bolt stop is different and the magazines are difference, hence making a long action and short action out of the same action...... I want the short action version so I don’t have to have a not needed long bolt throw, stock cut for the longer bolt throw in the cheek and get new magazines.. hope that cleared it up for you. I need a SA model.

Depending on the price found, the bolt stop and mag would be a small price that might still be worthwhile. The bolt face is your only limiting factor (and if you want blued or stainless)

I think the stocks are all the same as well, with the exception of a shorter length of pull on the compacts.

Holy hell guys, life is not this hard...
I just want a tikka in the factory SA set up. As I said, I just want the action which means aftermarket stock.., a high comb stock has to be cut for a long bolt throw. Already have one done...
Now that we have covered every component of a tikka and proven the difference in SA/LA set ups, I again want a SA set up. I’m sure someone else will throw their ten cents into this one but please refrain unless your looking to sell what I’m looking to buy.
