Blame the jockey,he intentionally rode that mount wide to prevent a pass by another rider. He got what he deserved.

The horse only responded to his rider and had to suffer the loss because of poor sportsmanship by his rider.

You usually get by with that maneuver in minor races but there is too much scrutiny in these major races.

I've watched it 4 times. I can see what the fuss is about. Maximum Security's jockey brings the horse way off the rail at about the 1:35 point. Next to the rail is the shortest distance around the track. There's no good reason to bring a horse that is leading a race off the rail.

I downloaded the race from youtube just minutes before it was removed.I've replayed it several times.Max/sec's rider moved off the rail by 15' to impede the horse that was making a move to pass.

He may have been able to move about 8-10' without penalty but his movement to the outside was too much for the stewards to ignore.

NBC won't allow the video to be replayed in the USA.

Try this link for viewing.

That's exactly what occurred.

So, this isn't NASCAR? wink

I think the race would be a lot more interesting if the finish line was a cliff.

Jockey did not ride wide to impede another horse intentionally. Jockey was having trouble getting horse to switch his lead, that is why for a few strides horse went slightly wide. I was telling wife that as race was live and we were watching. It did affect the horse next to him on his right, but that horse was not going to pass him. the 20 horse was not affected by it. I still say bs dq.

Wife went with 2 coworkers. The $600 she won won’t cover the half dozen dresses, hats, and shoes that kept showing up the last few weeks in preparation. Kept her out of my way as I dhot 2 new rifles she doesn’t know about today....

Max impeded War of Wills and maybe Lang Range, but never impeded Country House. Country House never would of won, never broke his stride, never left his line, never got touched by Max. The foul was supposed to be judged between Max and Country House. The head steward lady must be a Hillary voter.

Nah,...War Of Will was moving up on the outside of Maximum Security. Maximum Security's jockey went *way* wide to cut him off. War Of Will's jockey had to pull him up. It was very flagrant.
