Guys,
I have an Austrian .22 rifle w/ an old Leupold scope on it. I am trying to find out the make of the rings on the rifle. It is one inch, aluminum, with Torx screws on each side of each ring. On top, there are two Torx screws in each ring. On the bottom of each ring, there are two slits on angles so it can be pulled in by the outside screws. It works perfectly and I just want to find out WHO made these rings?
The rifle was made in 1968, near the end of it's production, I read. If I could send a photo, I would. I can send a photo of it from my iPad, if a member would do so thru an E-mail address?
Thanks for reading this. I am just trying to find out who made the scope rings, that's all.

Pic would help. Based purely on the torx screws I'd say the rings couldn't be more than 10 years old, assuming they were OE on the ring set.

What you're describing sounds like it might possibly be the ring style originally made by Bausch and Lomb for their Trophy scopes (which had a slightly different base than the Weaver cross slot style).
If so, these rings were made years later by Bushnell--but they were changed on the bottom and made to fit the Weaver style bases.
They were light weight with an anodized finish.

Thanks for your feedback guys, I appreciate it! I guess I'm going to have to try to send a photo or two to the site here? I'm just curious as to who made them, that's all. I've been into the sport for over 60 yrs. now and have never seen a set of alum. rings like these and I thought I saw them ALL....I guess not..!
I was told Torx screws began in 1967 and this Steyr was made in 1968, so the rings MAY be original European manufactured? The anad. black rings are 1/2" wide and when I measure, I think the dovetail is 16mm wide? No name on the rings anywhere to be seen... Each slit begins @ each corner bottom and goes up to the 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock positions. Thus, the outer screws then pull each slit toward the center and are tightened. Very simple procedure!
Thank you both, again!

About the only way to be truly sure of what you have requires a picture or two.

I understand completely. I'll see if I can post a photo of the rings in question. Thank you!
