Headed to the hardware store when on the spur of the moment decided to drop in on the brand spanking new Walmart. Found the sporting goods counter, and just like they said in the magazines - no more firearms for sale.

I could buy a Leupold, and I could buy some ammo, heck, I could even buy a cleaning rod and some Hoppes #9, but there's no firearms for sale. My friendly neighborhood old time gun store is probably liking that.

Guns here in Helena WallMart.

But I prefer to buy at my local gunshop, even if it costs a bit more.

LaGrange TX. Pop 4486. 100 miles from Houston, 120 from San Antonio. 60 from Austin. Not quite the middle of nowhere, but still good old rural TX as far as I'm concerned. I'd prefer to be more remote but I digress.

Nope no more guns here either..... azzholes...

Last time I bought anything at Walmart was 2 years ago. My brother called to tell me their Walmart, for who knows what reason, was selling M700 .308 ADL's for $299 unadvertised. So I drove north and met him at the parking lot and we went in and each bought a rifle. I sold the barrel and stock to the gunsmith for $100 and ended up with a complete action for $200. It's still in the safe waiting for a reason to go to work.

Was in the one in Williamsburg Kentucky last week and they had at least thirty in the rack behind the counter.

I understood that they only removed them from places they were not selling better than whatever else they could put in their place. Walmart measure EVERYTHING in it's pursuit of profit. I wouldn't look for some ominous meaning to their removal, it's just about the money

I saw some in Scottsbluff NE Walmart the other day all synthetic and not many choices. Too close to Sydney (Cabala's) to shop at Wallyworld for guns.

Wal Mart sold A LOT of guns. The problem, as it was related to me was the ATF. They were fining he// out of them for any little screw-up on the forms. With Wal Mart's hiring policies, this was pretty hard to correct. If you buy many guns you know what I mean when I tell you that if you fool with those forms very much, you WILL make some mistakes. Wal Mart eliminated gun sales from all but the top 10% (in firearms sales) of their stores.

Another example of backdoor gun control by the top political appointees of a Federal Agency. One that will get by because of the average person's hate for Wal Mart.

We frequent several Wal Marts as we are out in the country. Of those we go to most, Nevada, Fort Scott, and Chanute all still have guns. There is a new one being built in Iola but the old one has had its guns removed. Others that we go to not quite as much that still have guns are Bartlesville, Independence, and Pittsburg. Those that don't are two out of three in Joplin-the main one still carrying firearms. Guess we're fortunate to live in a "gunny" area.

Kodiak store has a bunch of guns. The handguns are show pieces; if you want to buy one they get a new copy from Anchorage. Got .454s, .460s. They are so big you could drop one on a bear and probably wound it severely.
I got a Ruger .338 last year and a Leupold scope, also a Marlin .44 not long ago.

It wasn't volume -- a local Walmart in Cortlandt Manor, NY had one of the highest volumes in the country, but got cut -- likely reason is that it was in NY.
