Look I gotta think forward. Building a woods 6 - 7 mm and you all have answered enough but...
Bergara 6.5 22” hunter in Oregon or 7mm-08. Man I like that seven. Let me know you bored ol’men

I have LNIB Bergara B14 Hunter in 7mag I would make you a smoking deal on. Picked up a 280ai custom at same time and will not need the Bergara.

If you want a light rifle but with more punch, I have a Barrett Fieldcraft in 30-06 that I would sell.
PM me if you are interested.

I'd go 6.5. Nothing wrong with 7-08 but no animal will ever notice the difference between 26 and 28 caliber.
Most people don't really want the truth.
They just want constant reassurance that what they believe is the truth.

Bullets matter wayyyyyyy more than headstamps and best bullet never doesn't not win.
The Fieldcraft '06 is a Goat Fhuqk, due botched bore diameter and COAL constraints,so isn't a viable consideration. The Fieldcraft Kreedmire and 7-08 are the antithesis of same,as all dots are connected.
If talking Factory Fodder, the Kreedmire steals The Show. If talking Reloading, then the 7-08/180 ELD melding is King.
Bergara don't rate a serious thunk.

If you are building, I say go with the 7-08 or better yet, a 7-08AI. The 150 grain and 162 grain ELD-X bullets really shine in the 7-08 and they will be adequate for all game in the lower 48.

I shoot both. Congratulations?!?
Pass the Fieldcraft, the 1-8",Skookum throat geometry and the 3" COAL for a magfed 180 Smooch and hold the Fluff.
