Any of you players do it yourself? I've got an old 1964 Fender mustang in real need of new frets but don't want to shell out $350+ for someone to do it. Feedback please.

Here is a Youtube in refretting. It's 1 out of 12, so it may be more complicated than I had thought.

We may know the time Ben Carson lied, but does anyone know the time Hillary Clinton told the truth? Immersing oneself in progressive lieberalism is no different than bathing in the sewage of Hell.

In 30-40 years, when that guitar SHOULD have been worth $3k plus, your grandkids can cuss you, just like all the folks whose grandad saved $10 by drilling and tapping their Pre”64 Win 70 or Savage 99 in the garage with a hand drill back in the 60’s....

The guitar is worth about $1500 right now I'd say. I actually removed the frets about a year ago but would hate to screw up putting the new ones in place. Maybe I'm worried about nothing...I dunno.

Btw I didn't use any heat removing them. Had zero issues.

I have built several guitars. Installing frets is not difficult. Watch Mr. Rosa on youtube . Look for RSW 312 where he replaces frets on a mandolin.

Btw I'll just get the pre-radiused and precut vintage Fender frets. I'm going for it.

Does changing them affect the value?

Does changing them affect the value?
If done properly it'll enhance the value. All guitars eventually need new frets.
Not real concerned about the value, I'll never sell it anyway.
