Anybody using this powder in their 264 with 140 grain bullets? I have read that some great velocities can be had with this combo.

Rcamuglia has a lot of experience with that combo, LR shooting. That's his favorite IIRC.

His last post was in Feb. May try sending him a PM, or do a search for his posts on that subject.

Here's a link. https://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbt...e-rl-33-loads-for-the-264wm#Post11178088

Rick also likes heavier bullets for his LR shooting.

RL-33 is great in the .264 WM, not so good in the 26 Nosler. Not slow enough.

869 seems about optimal in the 26 Nosler. So, these things can be pretty application specific.

My results in a .264WM with a Sledge Hammer 117gn bullet and RL 33. This was testing for velocity and pressure, so only two shots per group.

I can't seem to make it work in my Super Grade. I moving towards faster powders to seem if I can find consistency. Good MV but spikey for me and accuracy is poor.

Using info from Rcamuglia, I ran RL 33 in my 264. Seems to like around 74-75 gr for my best accuracy. Using Winchester cases, Rem. 9.5 primers and 142 LRAB. Getting 3250 with them. Smoked a nice bull elk with it as well as a couple of whitetails and a few axis.

Have you tried RL-26? Works great in the 7RM with 160's and in other rounds.

If you're looking for something faster than RL-33, that would be my suggestion.

If you try it, let us know how it works.

My custom 264 loves 74gr Rl 33 under the 140 hybrid target. Only complaint is my fist lot of Rl 33 was 76 gr. When I ran out and I found more I had to back it down to 74 to get the same speeds. Lot to lot consistencies have me worried so i bought 8# now I’ll be good till the barrel is toast. Try it you won’t be disappointed.

I couldn’t get the velocities where I wanted with RL26 in my 264. RL33 Beat it by 75-100 FPS easy.

An excellent illustration of the relationship between velocity nodes and accuracy (even though it was two shots).

RL-26 is too fast. You need to be down in the "slow magnum" range - RL-33, Retumbo, H1000 etc.

RL-26 is a tad faster than RL-25 in some applications.

Vv n-570 is a high energy powder that may work. It's a coarse stick and a beast to measue, about have to weight each charge. QL shows it as top performer in a number of rounds. I'd think it would be a top performer with 140, 143, 147 gr. bullets,

I guess I'm one of the few people on the planet who've not tried Re-26. When I get back to tinkering with it, I was going to look at 7828 and 4831, as examples.
I'm trying to get 130 NABs to shoot.

I found the .264 Win to be finicky with load work up, at least more finicky than the 26 Nosler, which is pretty straight forward with ultra slow powders like 869.

Those who like it would probably argue with that. My experience with it was not extensive but did include a number of loads. The gun was my buds, now wearing a Shilen .416 Rem barrel being set up for cape buff next year. To me, that was a good use for a post '64, M-70 .264 WM.

When I tried RL 26 with the 142's, I got speeds that barely topped 3000 and poor accuracy. I next tried the RL33 and found my load at 3250.
