But when it comes to actively campaigning for a specific political candidate or partisan objective, the military draws the line.
It should be noted that these prohibitions do not apply to members of the National Guard or Reserves unless they are currently serving on active duty. =====================
Here is a piece by Bryant Jordan on Military.com with more on the recent "politicking" of a uniformed Reserve Soldier.
[UPDATE:] The Soldier referenced in the articles above was given a letter of reprimand with it filed in his official record in March 2012. The Army determined that Jesse D. Thorsen violated policies that bar soldiers from participating in political events in their official capacities or while in uniform.

I remember being told to never do anything political when in uniform.
Yeah she's ph cking dumb.. everyone knows you don't show up to political events in uniform..
This. Never in uniform, and never speak on behalf of your service, for anything.
This can be used as evidence that colossal ignorance is alive and well in some military members. Vast majority know better.

Except if you are a woman. During the post-Tailhook witch hunt, Title Ten emasculation of the warrior culture in the 90s, women in uniform were all over the halls of Congress and rallies in uniform. I also find it particularly nauseating all services have gone to that RIDICULOUS camo-type uniforms as the uniform of the day...
A good principle to guide me through life: “This is all I have come to expect, standard lackluster performance. Trust nothing, believe no one and realize it will only get worse…”
I assume she received a healthy ass chewing and can look forward to a poor performance report. The SC Guard is heavily represented by Citadel and Clemson grads and leans to the conservative side. Jorge- your camo argument makes sense from the Navy perspective, but it’s a great choice for soldiers, Airmen, and Marines who don’t sit in offices all day. The pictured uniform is outstanding- the cut and pattern are effective.

We'll have to agree to disagree. That type of uniform should not be seen outside the confines of the base. It's an excuse for sloppy uniforms..

"Come, shall we go and kill us venison? And yet it irks me the poor dappled fools, Being native burghers of this desert city, Should in their own confines with forked heads Have their round haunches gored."
