.270 WSM (not the "old" .270 Win) followed closely by the 6.5x55 Swede and .243 Win.

The best non-catridge ever designed for North American medium and big game; the .30-06.

if i only had to choose one, it would probably be 7mm remington mag. it has been very good to me. also like the 264 winchester mag, and this year will be trying out the 7mm-08 for the first time.

I have to go off the board with this one. My favorite carry rifle is my T/C Hawkens 50 cal. Muzzle loader here in NH is before regular rifle season so I get brown on the ground early. No gun tag left. Out of state is the 35 Whelen. Ken

A golf course is a sad misuse of a perfectly good rifle range.

If I had to walk across Africa and Alaska with only one gun and live off the land then I would pick up my old 30-06 or my 7x57. Thank goodness I never have to make such a decision as I really love my .338, 375 H&H, 416 Rem, and my old Sav. 99EGs in 250 and .308 and 450-400 double to mention a few. Then there is my love, the 25-35 Win SRC that has served me so well all my life, killed a load of deer and a number of elk with it. I think I would just quit hunting.
