The bad news keeps coming. Overall inflation now over 2000%. Huge increases in the hundreds of percentages in electricity and maize.

The people of Zim could sure use our prayers.

Wow! Sounds like they are on the edge of a total fiscal melt down. I don't like to hear figures tosses about though that use percentages. It's like hearing that murder went up in some small country by 300 percent in one year. It could be one person last year and 3 this year. Still I would hate to owe anyone money in times like that. 1Minute

I'm a Banker and I can't believe outfits like Barclays are even still in Zimbabwe. The company I work for lost a good profitable well capitalized bank in Argentina when they had their meltdown a few years ago. We lost about $700mm cdn. The govt basically blamed the whole crisis on 4 foreign owned banks from non spanish speaking countries.

US dollars, Rand and Euros is what the country really is running on. Take those and all will be well for you as a hunter or traveller. Very well, actually.

The cause of these problems in Zim is their dictator and all of the "people" who support him.

The finantial melt dows is a direct result of the break down in law. The dictator is operationing like a king without respect for the law. Only an idiot would invest, live, work or visit Zim.

You would be aiding the dictator if you visit his country and as he has shown contempt for the law, you would be putting your life at risk.

They need more than your prayers mate - what they need is the West (U.S. & Europe) to give Mugabe the ass. After all they were instrumental in putting him there.
