It is often asked what would your battery consist of with three, four, five or whatever number of rifles. I got to thinking what would be folks favorite cartridge be in a given caliber. Let's use the following calibers, an even dozen, and pick your favorite round for each. Either factory or wildcat, whichever is your choice.

.224
.244
.257
.263
.277
.284
.308
.323
.338
.358
.366
.375

If some bullets happen to be a tad smaller or bigger, than what is listed, such as a 9mm which is really .356 instead of .358, put the cartridge to the closest one. I am most curious what some of the answers will be.

Many thanks

I am finding that one of the military versions of many of these calibers are awfully practical and useful. Even so.......

.224- 218 Bee
.244- 6mm Rem (gave it away as it had paid for itself so well I was beginning to owe.)
.257- 257 Roberts (works so well for my wife)
.263- 6.5X55 Mauser
.277- perhaps WSM since it seems like the only WSM on new ground
.284- 7mm-08 is so practical, but I will say Mauser even though I have yet to fire one.
.308- 30-06
.323- 8X68S -(why is this one so overlooked?)
.338- 340 Weatherby
.358- 358 Win since I have it. 358 Norma looks awfully good though
.366- 9.3X62 tickles me to look. Haven't got it though so: 45-70
.375- H&H is practically boring. The 375/350 Rem Mag is fun.

Mostly just had to pick what I have and know. Thanks for some fun.
