I know nothing of the Leica, but you can see what the Optio is capable of when you look at any of Elf's pictures. I do believe she would agee, however, the upgrade to the Optio waterproof would be a wise choice....

I have and use a Pentax W30.

Pros.....
good battery life
decent macro
water proof
no extending lens

Cons......
shutter lag (resulting in many blurred shots)
color is off a bit (reds)
cartoon icons

overall, a decent camera. Very compact and durable.

Leica...??? haven't seen the c-lux

Biggest drawback to the Pentax and something I really detest. It has NO FRIGGEN lens cover or protection. Major design brain-fart in my opinion. Here they make a dust/water proof camera for us outdoors type folks and no protection for one of the most import parts of the camera. In fact, scratch or chip that lens and you are pretty much out'a luck. I can't believe they don't have any protection.

Dude,

Your comparing Pentax to Leica?

If you want Leica glass, in a jap camera, buy a Panasonic and be done with it. I did.
