MidwayUSA is running a pretty good sale right now, and has free shipping over $49 AND Speer has a rebate, 20% off orders over $100.

If Speer works for you, there is some pretty good savings to be had.

Not sure how much longer the free shipping lasts though.

I'm a Speer fan, but haven't loaded any in a long time. I used to use the 130 gr. Speer Grand Slam in my Browning A-Bolt in .270. It gave me sub .5 MOA groups consistently. I'm waiting for the 6.5/130 gr. Impact bullets to arrive. I want to try them in my 6.5 Swede and my 6.5 PRC. They're over due according the Midway's website and Speer isn't giving out much better information.

Thanks for the information!

145 gr btsp in the 284 is pure poison. There's a 130 gr version as well, but I haven't needed to try it.

In todays market, I like how Speer is one of the only companies, ( if not the only ) one ot put realistic pricing on their bullets..

after Obama has been out of office they have actually dropped the price of a lot of their bullets..

and also haven't got caught up in everybody elses thing to push new bullet design.. plastic tips etc..

I'm also a Speer fan and have been shooting them for many many years with excellent results in both accuracy and on game performance. My favorite is the Hot-Cor but unfortunately for some reason Speer discontinued the two that I use the most which are the 120gr HC .257 and the 120gr HC .264. Fortunately I still have enough stocked up to last a very long time so I'm good for now. There's others that they also discontinued like the deep curl, why I don't know because it was also a very good bullet. As posted Speer also doesn't break the bank with their pricing so that's also a plus with shooting Speer. Thanks for the heads up on the sale. Mike

I shoot the .264 hotcor in 6.5x55 too. About out of them and haven't been able to find any more. How do you get the free shipping? I just came up with an order and shipping is $14.

Midway's free shipping comes and goes day to day. Have to be on the lookout.

Usually, they make you buy $49 worth of stuff before you get the free shipping.

Their mag-tip was a great bullet... I used 200gr hot-cor out of my 325 wsm on a caribou.. I’m not going to call it bullet failure because the caribou fell over dead. Will say the performance of bullet was lacking and it was a 400yd shot.. I had a buddy tell me yrs ago, if a 270 wouldn’t shoot 150gr Speer boat tail w/ H4831 then get rid of the rifles lol..

+1. I loaded up a shopping cart this morning. This afternoon I went back to place the order, and the free shipping code was gone. Inconvenient yes, but ultimately Midways loss. If you want people to impulse buy "wants" as opposed to "needs", don't screw with the free shipping.

Midway runs free shipping on $49 orders a lot. I’d bet you’ll see an identical free shipping in a week or two.

If I could only get one bullet to reload for my 30-06 and it was the 180 gr HotCor I would get along just fine. That said if I could only have one bullet but could pick from all that are available that bullet would be the 180 gr. Partition.

I love speer bullets but they left the 280 Ackley out of manual 15 - when I emailed them their reply was it was a new SAAMI release.... uh only 11 years now -- stick with Hornady 162 gr Interlock- drops any thing it hit's...

To bad -really wanted to give that 145 gr. .284 a try...

I wouldn't wait for Speer to tell me what to load them with.
