OH dear lord.. you found an 1899C in 25-35 for $100 on a yard sale? It's worth a LOT more if it's got any condition. Geez... $100? Bloody thief! grin

danw,
Depends on the condition, but I would be interested in buying it when you arrive at a price.

I would like to see a scaled down 99EG in .222, 223 and 6x45, a miniture Savage 99..wow!

I would also like for the 99F (circa 1950 era) to come back with brass rotor, underlever saftey, checkered walnut in 250 savage caliber mostly, but the .243, 308, 7-08 would be good alternative options.

Love that .250, shot a lot of deer and several elk with it when I was a youngster....

Add 1 more to the total. 99H carbine serial # 3033XX. Thanks. I know it's not my job, but I was curious. I went back to the last posted total and worked to my post. I'm counting 1540 rifles.

Um
Your Right.
That Was Given to Rory to Keep Up the Counting.
Now Add
2 "T"'s, and 30-30 1899,a 35 Rem-1899,
and 300 eg,a 300 G preChecker,a 22 H.P.
6 More!
so 1546. I thinks.

Okay folks.. if you've been wheeling and dealing then post your new counts, or PM me if you prefer your stashes remain private. If you can, separate them into 1899's, 99's and 1895's and I'll total them up that way.

Darned good luck finding that... however, you've found the right group to ask questions of and get answers. Start a new post and you'll get lots of answers to your questions.

Ya'll know I've got it so add the 1899 F saddle ring carbine made in 1904 to the mix.

Mike...

All said, the Savage 99 is a genius of a rifle. Although no longer produced, it remains highly revered, as it was the foundation from which Arthur Savage built one of America's great gun companies. >> (Jon Y. Wolfe) <<

I have an 1895 .303 Savage. I have never fired it but I would like to. It's in emaculate condition. It was produced by John Marlin. I have a certificate from the Savage Historian that says it was returned to the factory in 1920 for unspecified work. It has a hex barrel, machined bolt, which was not stock. It may have been re-blued at that time. I have two boxes of ammo for it. My problem is I don't know how to tear it down and clean the revolving magazine. I don't want to fire it until I know is clean and safe. Does anyone have and cleaning instructions?
Thanks
