Just got a "light weight" stock for a Rem 700 LA. Have yet to fit barreled action to stock, but first impressions are:
1. The recoil pad is useless, hard as a rock
2. I ordered "tan spider-web" but the stock is green. Stocky's says "that is out tan" but it is not even close to matching their web site color. Took it to 3 art supply houses, and compared color charts, never found any thing in a tan that matched!!!!!
Should not hurt the functionality, but in the high desert, and late season tall grass prairies where I hunt it will not blend in. May hydro coat it, or spray it. Just so you all know.

You took your stock to three art supply houses?
What particular stock did you acquire from Stocky's?

I have 8-10 of the B  C Ti stocks and all have been great?

No questions, but honestly, your stock doesn't need to "blend in". Animals don't see color like we do. They will pick up movement long before they notice your stock doesn't match the grass.

SHhhhhhhh...alot of companies operating under the P.T. Barnum pretext will go out of business.... I just bought a new HOWA with a Kuiu Digital Como design on the stock...I'll be using it for night calling predators......just in case they have night vision goggles.....they won't be able to see that digital camo!

You can not use out of date camo, you have to buy new camo (guns included) every other year....
I may not be smart but I can lift heavy objects
I have a shotgun so I have no need for a 30-06.....

Yep. All that camo is for us. Animals will never notice unless we are moving. Any solid color stock would work equally well. Camo stocks do look good though.

No, any solid stock color would not work equally well, solid white would be more visible to a critter than a color and pattern matching the background, any day, everyday. Various shades of gray or a white flag...
