Dropped by one of my favorite pawn shop yesterday to search the used racks for a gem. I ,of course, found one. A sportered M98 in 8mm original barrel has a redfield Swing-over mount with a weaver k4. I just couldnt help my self when I saw the 270$ price on it. I think they could put one of these out every month and I would probably buy it. So I went to the range this morning to see how things went with some hand loads I made for my other 8x57. Took both to the make sure the other was sighted in. I was fairly pleased when the new rifle shot into 1.2 inch group with my ammo. https://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbthreads/gallery/80/full/111610.jpg

There’s one sitting in the rack at a shop I drive by every day. 35 Whelen. I have to keep a firm grip on the wheel because my damn car try’s to go into the parking lot everyday.

Nice!

Dang near bought a beautiful, sporterized, pre-war 98 with a Berlin rollmark once and have been kicking myself ever since for not doing so.

I think everyone has a few they wish they had bought and regret some they have sold!
