It’s time for new hip boots, and the Lacrosse Big Chief hippers are out since they are slim in the lower leg and I have large calves. I have always struggled with these boot because they forced me to pull up my pant legs to get my feet into the boot.
Does anyone make a hip boot that is akin to Lacrosse’ Big Boy Burley knee boots with a larger leg?

Stick with sheep. You only need sturdy knee boots.

If three or more people think you're a dimwit, chances are at least one of them is right.

Sorry I can't answer your question.

From the title, I thought it was another thread about Hillary.

Never saw a calf wearing boots. But goats on the other hand...

Amazing what you can find with Google. Wonder what kind of ads Google will show me after looking up that sort of picture. shocked

Bullchit!
I know you, and unless you just didn’t get it, you laughed as hard as I did. 😁😂

At this point there’s not much I can do with this thread except laugh.

las, sure did. Not the first time and probably not the last.

nighthawk, please don’t show any more pics like that. It attracts the trolls.

Don, it would be cheaper and much less painful to hand make the hip boots myself. But thanks for the suggestion. 😉

Try these https://danshuntinggear.com/froglegs-five-star-chaps.html

I had a pair back when Wick was still making them for coon hunting. Waterproof enough for crossing creeks, not sure you could fish in them though. Built around a standard pair of lacrosse boots.

Skidmore is steering you in the right direction here.. Call Conkey's outdoor supply and tell them you want a pair of chaps sewn onto the boot of your choice, they will ask for leg measurements (thigh circumfrence) and have them shipped directly to you.. You want them, light, medium, super tough they can handle..I prefer to deal with Conkey's who handle the ordering thru Dan's as they are an Amish company and sometimes hard to work with on the phone.. FWIW

I put about 200 nights a year in Muck boots and Frogger boots with chaps sewn on, no issues with leakage in wading swamps and creeks.. Just sometimes some massive shrinkage when it gets too deep!!

Hey thanks guys!
The campfire comes through again.
I was joking with Huntsman about making my own and sitting in my stand this morning the plans for making my own from a set of new Burley boots and adding the legs from a pair of chest waders who’s boot to leg seam wore out. Your link gives me immediate access to what I need. It’s hunting season and I need them now.

Well that way you don’t have to worry about some little lamb walking up behind you and saying “ are you my Daaaaaaaaaad?”
