I much prefer swivels with recessed buttons. I’ve got a whole drawer full of expensive slings, including TAB Gear, KZ, Magpul, etc. My favorite is one I made from spare hardware and webbing. I’ll throw some pics up when I get a minute. Cal reviews a bunch of slings on his Precision rifle blog.

Check out Jacob Bynum’s Bungee or Carbine sling at Rifles Only. I have both and use them on everything from 7lb-20lb rifles. The Carbine is a more simplistic option for hunting rifles and the bungee on both soaks up a ton of shock when packing over the shoulder.

This is what i have - doesn't 'look' like it will come loose . https://grovtec.com/products/heavy-duty-push-button-swivel-single-pack-gtsw106Opinions on favorite sling are all over the place - more than one person has several slings they don't like but not much info. on why they don't like . Thanks Brian

Three weeks ago I was carrying a 21lb. match rifle from a series of stages in the woods to landing 600 yards down a gravel road. I'd forgotten my sling and only had one I'd put together in a pinch this summer. I'd been at the farm woodchuck hunting and forgotten a sling. My rifle had cups on it and all I could find locally were Magpul push button swivels with exposed buttons, which I'd put on a US made BlackHawk sling picked up for a few bucks off the LGS's misc. table.
This match had us hiking half way up a little mountain and then shooting from a series of landings. Finding that sling in my console was a welcome surprise, until something bumped the lower swivel's exposed button and my match rifle landed atop the scope on the rocky road on my way to the final three stages. I'll always choose recessed button swivels, if given a choice.
