I've about worn out most of my old 1" cam lock style motorcycle tie down straps and the junk I'm finding at local stores isn't worth buying. The nylon strap is so thin it twists terribly and the cam mechanism is about the same quality.
Found some good ones at a auto swap meet a couple years ago but have no idea how to contact the vendor.
Anybody have a source for decent 1" cam lock straps (NOT ratchet straps)??

Unless they have changed them, these are the best I've ever used. I've trailered motorcycles from PA to Sturgis and Daytona with these and never had a problem. https://www.ancracargo.com/product/cam-buckle-tie-downs-4-pack-2/
I sure could go for some $2.50/gal gas and a mean tweet!

I wouldn't trust my Harley Soft Tail to a cam lock strap of any design. I use 2" wide ratchet straps front, center, and rear on both sides. Jerry

Sorry you lost me at cam lock. I've never seen a cam lock strap hold anything worth a chit. Subscribed for the enlightenment

Go to the local HD dealer and see if they won't sell you some straps that new bikes come tied down with.

Harbor Freight. Just as good as the other stuff without the hype and extra $$$.

The wife bought me some Snap-On ratchet straps rated for 1200# if I remember right..Great straps I use for my Yamaha Rhino and other things...I am usually a miser with stuff like that and have probably 10-15 pairs that all failed in one way or the other..I do like these Snap-On straps, well worth the price to me..

Skip the cam straps, and get ratchet straps from the local tractor supply store.

I wouldn't trust my Harley Soft Tail to a cam lock strap of any design. Me neither; ratchet's only for me. Lots of those almost anywhere. MM

Those Ancra straps linked above look like all the other China packaged cam straps. What am I missing?

Still using a set of Ancra straps I purchased with my 1972 400cc Husky dirt bike. Other than it seems harder to pull them tight than it was 47 years ago, they are still 100% serversable. Now they hold the four wheeler on the trailer.
I don't know where they are made these days, but the old ones were worth the money!

They used to be made with "heavy" straps and the cams would really dig in, so much so that it was hard to release them at the end of the trip. From Pittsburgh to Daytona more than once and they didn't need retightened ever. They may have changed them, but the ones I own are great. All I can comment on is what I have....the new ones may be crap now.
