This book has 11 short stories written by a well known man and woman author paired up to work together to write a short story using one of the characters that they have had in one of their mystery/thriller novels.
As an example Lee Child is paired with Kathy Reichs and they have their characters Jack Reacher and Temperance Brennan involved in a mystery.

Lisa Jackson and John Sandford have their characters Regan Pescoli and Virgil Flowers involved in a mystery. And so on.

With 11 short stories and nearly 440 pages it's fun to find out what these authors do with the possibilities. A few stories didn't appeal to me much but that's what makes it more interesting as I find some exposure to authors I hadn't read before. As a 'Fire member who asked me if I'd read Sandford opened my eyes to Sandford's work (which I have very much appreciated), this book opens other avenues.

This is an interesting short story collection.
