One overlooked awesome made in Japan optic is the GPO Passion HD's. An excellent binocular. Those who have tried them love them

Thanks Doug. I've read that the GPO Passion HDs are great binocs... Just a bit more than I want to spend right now. I'm leaning towards the used 8x43 Minox APOs though.
fredIII: The MeoPros are still in the running. The final decision will be made on Sunday.

I really like the Made in Japan GPO Passion HDs that Doug recommended & he has an open box set for a good price, but I think I'm gonna try the Minox APOs 1st.

I decided to go with the Minox HG APO 8x43 binocs. I should have them in a few weeks.

“What binoculars are you running today out of the box blind? “ guy asks his hunting buddy.
Other Guy: looks down and acts like he didn’t hear the question. Aww [bleep] it he thinks . “These new Passions, man. They’re awesome.”

Dangit alwaysoutdoors! Don't make me second-guess my decision!
Yep. I read that the Passion HDs are indeed awesome, but the extra cost just isn't in the cards right now. Doug speaks highly of them as well. Maybe next go 'round I will get a set in 10x42 or 10x50. They also have an 8.5x50 that looks interesting.

I will have to double check my 10×42. They are certainly nice glass. An opinion shared by many experts, at the time of their introduction, who positively compared them to European glass costing three to four times as much.
I will have to rely on their opinions, as I have never held anything more expensive to compare to.

Idaho_Shooter: If you're happy with your Nikons, that's all that matters. There are many companies that manufacture their binocs in China. I looked at the Made in China Vortex Razor and Viper today and they are very nice indeed. The Hawk Frontier ED, also MIC, gets very high reviews, like the Vortex and your Nikons. But for me, that is not the point. I will pay a bit more, and I'll go out of my way to avoid items that are MIC. Please refer to my previous post on page 2, in case you missed it, for a brief explanation of my reasoning.
Leftybolt: Thankyousir. I know I'll be perfectly happy with the Minox APOs, as I've experience w/ Minox going back decades and I've always liked their products.
