There were two Bullitt cars. Yes, and they were heavily reinforced to sustain all the jumps and bumps and cornering required for the chase. L.W.

There were two Bullitt cars. the article says that one was used for the stunts. It was modified then trashed beyond repair and scrapped. This one was used for the closeups and wasn't damaged.

Here is a clip of the article I read about the stunt car: The stunt car has got quite a history of its own. It was accidentally discovered rotting away in a Mexico junkyard in 2017 by a California man named Hugo Sanchez. He was looking for a Mustang to turn into a clone of the “Eleanor” car from the film “Gone in 60 Seconds." The car was identified as the “Bullitt” car by modifications made to accommodate cameras and lighting equipment. Might try to contact Hugo since I have the car like he was actually looking for, if he is looking for one like the original Gone in 60 seconds movie.
