CDC says 56K people died of the "flu" in the US alone in 17-18. This is the "flu". Perhaps one of the more serious strains. Perhaps not.
Most of the dozens of people who have died of this new one have been old and or sick, lowering their resistance anyway. Bound to be worse in severely over-crowded places like China. So far I have heard it blamed on chicken, fish, snake, and now bat. Sounds like un-knowing panic speculation to me.
I'm 71, good health, retired, ain't going traveling, out of the mainstream of humanity, never had a flu shot, and not getting one now.

I spent my first 18 plus years on my parents farm. Helped butcher cattle, hogs, chickens, geese and turkeys. I don’t eat any internal organ meat, period. The rest is fine. There’s nothing wrong with a medium NYS steak.
