Im looking at getting some 1.5 coil spring traps for foxes, but I am not sure what brand to get? Does it really matter? Is there a difference between Duke, BMI, Bridger?
Thanks in advance!

Steve, while I don't target foxes, I can't keep 'em out of my 'yote sets. I use Bridger, but wouldn't hesitate to use anything else if the price is right!

I've used Duke 1.5 coils but I think they're a little too flimsy. (too many yotes around here) I much prefer sleepy creeks or modified victors.

I use the #2 Victors. If you check out Ebay you can get them dirt cheap. I bought some Dukes 2 years ago and was not impressed. They were damned near un-usable out of the box. Took alot of bending and tuning to make them right.

if your checking E-Bay, look into getting some Montgomery step ins......very strong and will hold an incidental coyote catch if you have good strong springs on them. They are a little more expensive but that is because they are more desirable. They make a square jaw which is my preference. I just like the way they sit in a set.

The Dukes worked great for me with some modification- baseplate, center swiveled, nitelatched, etc. A bit of work, but it was fun since I had access to a mig welder. Besides, they are cheap. I really like the bridger though out of the box.
