What base or rail would you guys recommend to mount a Red dot on, not sure what one yet ? Would like something that sits low. Thanks for the input👍

You can buy a Burris Fastfire 3 that comes with a shim that goes between the stock and the reciever... I have one for my SBE

ive gone through this exercise on my 12 and 20 gauge franchi affinity3 shotguns that are very similar to your benelli...
I suspect you will need a weaver 93A base and you will have to grind down the two front screws which is easy. Kinda.
I put a burris fast fire 3 on the 12 gauge using the weaver base and it was alright, but you are holding you head high and touching off a 3 inch magnum with out a good hard cheek weld so you may get smacked a little. A comb riser would help, but I didnt have a problem.
The beneli will let you find a speed bead which could be a sweet deal. My affinity doesnt seem to have speed bead availability though.
In the end....
I ordered a sumtoy customs for my franchi ($50) and its a lot lower than the weaver base mounting and like it. Have to sight it in this weekend.
The odd thing was I ordered a 12 gauge mount, but there was a light gap under it and I tried it on the 20 and it was perfect. Sumtoy figured they may have sent the wrong one... lesson here.. be specific in gauge if they ask and double check. I was specific though.....
Having said that... I am going to order another 12 gauge mount from Sumtoy and hope to get the right one. The lowness is very nice.
If you want to see one mounted... google, or youtube watch the dave owens pinhoti project fideos and he shoots a 20 gauge franchi affinity 20 gauge with a mount.
Supposedly people modify marlin 336 a mounts, but I would go to sumtoy. Who knows.. maybe they modify 336 mounts and sell them.
Hopefully my rambling helped... either speed bead or sumtoy is what I recommend gor a FF3.

I have a pic of my 870 with the Burris SpeedBead in the "what gun thread". Yes, it's an 870, but would look the same on a SBE 2. Or, one of my turkey hunting buddies had a gunsmith mill the top of his shotgun to get his reflex sight mount as low as possible. Turned out very nice, thinking of having that done to another turkey gun of mine.
