I've got a roughly 50 year old Remington 1100 with some freckling/light pitting on the receiver.
Can you recommend a gunsmith who can smooth out the metal and then restore the look with good quality hot bluing?
Located in NW Montana, but would be willing to ship for quality work.
Thanks in advance,
KP

Glenrock is the best in the bluing business.

Ain't cheap but I'd say a fair price. Now this guy walks up to me at the range with a Western Field pump with about half the blue worn off and asks where he can get it blued cheap...

Which explains a lot.

I wouldn't spend that much on an 1100, maybe if you polished it yourself. I should add that I haven't personally seen their work but if they're good enough for D'arcy Echols they're good enough, period!

Sentimental value.
Makes a man do funny things, like want to restore a gun his dad gave him before he died.

Another for Glenrock Blue. I live in WY and have been in his shop, had work done, could not ask for more. I know ACGG guys who use him.
