This is going to annoy my Dad a bunch. I can just hear him cussing.

BERKELEY — Gov. Gavin Newsom on Thursday ordered California's nearly 40 million residents to stay home, making it the first state to impose that strict mandate on all residents to counteract a looming surge of new infections.

The order takes effect immediately and remains effective "until further notice." Californians are not allowed to leave home except for essential purposes. They are allowed to purchase groceries, prescriptions and health care, as well as commute to jobs deemed essential.

This is going to be interesting. For what duration is the stay at home order?

I'd tell them to pounds sand. What are they going to do, lock you up? They already have a standing order not to arrest non-violent offenders.I believe I'd tell them that they wouldn't have to worry about seeing me on their roads again.

What if you need beer and butts???

I grew up in rural Northern California. Conservative, some of the best waterfowl hunting in the country. Some of the most beautiful country you've ever seen.

All ruined by SF and LA and liberal kooks.

I wouldn't move back for a $5 million dollar a year job. I only venture back to visit family or for business.

But there are many good, conservative folks there, and children with no choice. I hope they all make it through this mess. Very sad.

Oregon is not far behind with Kate Brown at the helm. We'e trying to get moved in the next three days before she shuts us down.

My Mom and Dad live in one of the more sparsely populated counties up North with what used to be one deputy patrolling a huge area.

I can't see this really causing them any issues other than my Dad likes to go into town once a week to go dancing. I imagine that's pretty much done for now.

We'll make it though just fine up where I live.

We don't get home delivery of mail, the wife has prescription she needs filled, our county road is 15 miles from town so likely no problem walking our dogs, neighbors are cool and nearest is over 100 yards away on the other side of the road.

And out sheriff is mostly sympathetic to conservative values, our jail holds a maximum of 43 folks, and most importantly...................


folks up here are pretty sharp and take care of themselves.

Many are already nearly hermits, so no big deal for them to stay home.

Fing Politicians need to all be kicked out of office.

I left the californicators to wallow in their own filth and moved back to America in 1980. The last thing I did on the west side of the state line was to pull over and take a big whizz. That border fading out of sight in my rear view mirrors was the best sight I've seen in years.

Build the wall- - - - -right along that same state line, and keep the kali-comrade carpetbaggers from polluting the rest of the country.

I can just see the Humboldt County Sheriffs Office being told they need to enforce this out in Alderpoint and Blocksburg.

I'm guessing that would be one them things were the Deputy just phoned that job in.

My father and grandfather were both career CHP. Almost 75 years between the two of them. Highly decorated, legends. My father in particular holds most or all of the drug bust records in the state.. So much so that the FBI, and some eastern block countries hired him for his consulting expertise.

I wanted to follow in their footsteps, except I could not make the acadamy. I have anosmia. (I cannot smell). I have never smelled a thing in my life, and no surgery can cure it.

But even those two knew enough to move to Oregon (where my grandfather retired and passed away) and Cabo San Lucas (where my dad has a killer palapa style house overlooking Land's End)

It is just a shame what has become of that great state.

Don’t worry, there won’t be much enforcement. Some of your neighbors may try to rat you out, so just have a sound story ready.

And yes I think Newsom has gone full retard on this, and lots of other issues.
