RIP Al Kaline. He was my childhood idle. Truly a class act his entire career.

Good player, good person. Godspeed, Al.

RIP--One of the greatest all-around baseball players. He was a class act, too.

He was one of mine. He wrote the forward to a book, Big League Batting Secrets, and I had one with his autograph and Harvey Kuenn's. I loaned it to a team mate on my Babe Ruth League team, but he never returned it.

Kaline was a class act, not often seen today.

One of the true greats, and one of the few who actually belong in the HOF.

I tend to be a "small hall" guy, and Kaline was a no doubter.

I think more people would be commenting on this if the thread title wasn't so obscure.

Lyman Bostock attempted to give his April salary back because he'd had a poor month. Interesting and tragic story. Read if interested.

Al had a donut shop in Lake Orion, right off M-24. I would stop there for coffee and a donut when I had an early tee time at Indianwood CC nearby

Damn I grew up loving that man; just such a great model of integrity.

RIP; I have baseball cards he signed in person when I was a little tiny kid. Sad he is gone.

The Tigers were my team and I followed them religiously during the 1960’s. Al Kaline, Norm Cash, Rocky Colavito, Jim Northrop, Dick McCauliffe, Mickey Stanley, Bill Freehan, Denny McLain and Mickey Lolich, remember them all like it was yesterday. Recall exactly where I was listening to the game when they rallied to beat the Cardinals in Game 7 of the 1968 World Series.

My 1st good glove was an Al Kaline model. I still remember punching a pocket into it. RIP Al.
