Don’t think any suggestions so far are wrong.

I tried that scope as well as a Leupold VX6 2-12x42.

Got rid of them both due to IMO awful parallax in both scopes.

Unless something better comes along I'm currently holding out for a 2.5-10x32 NXS w/IHR and capped turrets.

My last .375 wore a Leupold Vari-X II 3-9X40. Standard duplex, nothin' fancy. If the rifle hadn't had a FUBAR chamber, I'd probably still have it.

I got one of the Leupold 3X scopes a few years ago when you could order them from the Custom Shop. I got the heavy duplex reticle. I shot a Kudu with it at a lasered 240 yards and never thought that the magnification or reticle were wanting.

The Nikon 2-7x32 should work well, try it and see how you like it.

Well it depends on your intended use and your preferences. Tony Sanchez-Arino, a very experienced African PH used a 3x9 if I recall correctly.

1st trip to Africa (Tanzania) I used a Swarovski AV 3-9 on my Remington 700 .375 H&H. 2nd trip (South Africa) used a Leupold VX3 1.5-4 on the same rifle. Both worked well.

Well here in Alaska I will use it like anybody would. Big bear, maybe moose. Really 375 is not needed for moose. I prefer my 35 whelen or 9.3x62 for moose.
But with a good scope I can cover a lot of game with my 375. I will post some pics of the scope mounted on my Sako if I can figure out how to post them.

I'd say it all depends on the intended use. I have a Leupold VX-3 1.5-5x with German #4 reticle on my CZ 550 .375 H&H. It worked well for hunting in thorn brush areas in Zimbabwe. If I wanted to hunt in open country or needed better low light performance for something like leopard then a bit more power and a larger objective would likely be better.

I have an old Leupold 2-7x28 with a post and cross-hair reticle on an even older Winchester 70.

I tried to like a Leupold 1.5-5 on mine, but didn't like it. Not enough magnification for my uses. I ended up putting a Zeiss conquest 3.5-10x44 on it and it worked great... The op's Nikon 2-7 should work out great, if it holds up... I'd just shoot it for a while and see how it holds up...

BSA,
That is exactly what I plan on doing. Mount it and see what happens.
Thanks everyone for all the great responses.

Curious why you swapped...

Would like to hear your reasoning on that.

No compelling reason, as I was perfectly happy with the performance of the Swar on my first safari. I subsequently traded for the Leupy (although I didn't need it), wanted an excuse to try it out, and figured my second safari would be a good opportunity. On balance, I like the Swar better, because it's more versatile, and have since placed it back on my 700, which I currently use on elk.

I have a 1.5x6 Bausch & Lomb on mine. It has been on the rifle for more than 15 years and has made 5 trips to Africa. I've been very happy with it.

I think Phil posted something to the effect a bear rifle with more than 4x made a statement. Of course there is not much in NA where a 375 makes sense... other than big bears...

VX-6 1-6x24 duplex Firedot is a good choice.

I took my 375 H&H M70 to SE Alaska on a brown bear hunt with a Leupold 1.5-5X and it simply sucked as the light headed to dim which is a pretty good time to see a bear. I should have known better. It now wears a Leupold 2-7X VX2.

My Ruger Alaskan in 375 Ruger wears a Leupold VX-3 2.5-8x36, so far, it works great.
