Been looking for a Ruger Super Blackhawk Bisley model, in 4 5/8" barrel, .480 Ruger. No luck, anywhere. Beginning to think that this model never existed, except in photos.
Anyone else looking, or had any luck finding one?

I just bought the larger 6.5 length model. Lipsey's exclusive. When I asked - dealer said Lipsey was sold out of the shorter one.

I'm not positive but would not be surprised if Ruger does a run once a year and says "That's 2020 - see you in a year" and calls it good. IIRC that's how most mfg's did lefty rifles. No guarantee there will be a 2021 run as well.

Not hard to see how the 4 5/8 would go fast either but I don't find the 6.5 onerous on another Ruger they had there I tried.

That said - I can always have it cut down was my thinking.

I thought they only did them in 5.5" and 6.5". I'm thinking about hunting down a 5.5" model.

In 480, Super Blackhawk Bisley - I see 6.5 and 4 5/8 as the Lipsey available.

Yes, they are none out there in 4 5/8. Since this a Lipsey distributor item, contact Lipsey as to when Ruger will be doing another production run. You can message Lipsey at their web site.

I own a Bisley 6.5" in 480. I also have a Bisley in 454 that I had Reeder cut to 5.5" as Ruger did not yet offer a shorter barreled 454 at that time. I'm not sure of the current length of the ejector on Bisley's. When I cut down my 454 Bisley, I didn't want to redo the length of the ejector housing, hence the barrel is the same length as the ejector housing. If you have Reeder cut one, have him do the coned barrel crown. It really helps with felt recoil.

Order one...you'll love it. My favorite firearm.

6.5" is great, too.

I think I'm going to like it. Lipsey's is closed down till 4/27 or something like that, hope to have it here shortly after.

Just got a notice from GrabAGun that they have a 6.5" model in stock. Tempted, but think I will hold out for a 4 5/8" if one ever shows up. For hunting, my 7.5" Super Redhawk in .480 Ruger will do just fine in the meantime. Looking more for one that would be a better carry length.

I have both the 6.5 and the 4 5/8-inch .480. They’re both great but I really like the shorty. Good luck finding one.

Yeah, I don’t think so. The crown should have no bearing on recoil, felt or otherwise.

Have a dished crown on a custom Reeder .41 and a Freedom Arms 654 .41 Magnum... The recenty purchased 6" 83/.41 6" I sent back to FA to have the barrel shortened also had a dished crown that the previous owner had sent back to FA to have done... Hated to loose the dished crown but didn't feeling like paying the extra money to have it redone when the barrel was shortened to 4.75"...

It was a Gary Reeder suggestion and I said let's do it. It seems to work well.

From owning and shooting three 454s, it does have a bearing on felt recoil.

Have placed orders with two LGS, both of which are Lipsey's dealers. Have notification requests everywhere else. If 2 or 3 show up as a result, I'm buying 'em all.
