I picked up a very nice Shilen DGA rifle in 6PPC on a multi gun trade. I allowed 1500.00 on trade because of the excellent condition and loading supplies. But I really don’t know what the real street price would be on the package. Any help would be appreciated. The rifle is single shot with the standard flat bolt nose. Shilen stainless barrel in standard 1-14 twist. I think the barrel is 26” . Similar profile of a cooper 21. Standard Remington trigger. Excellent condition. I would think that it’s a live varmint rifle. Reloading dies and some brass/loaded rounds. I have not fired the rifle. I’m not a PPC guy and don’t plan on shooting it.
Looks to be in nice shape, however because of the accuracy potential of this caliber, it depends on round count, at a certain point accuracy starts to go south. If its been fired little, then $1500 is not unreasonable. Hope that helps.
Thanks for the reply. Rifle looks to be fired very little. Bolt face is very clean. But I know that some of these bench rest type actions can be fired a bunch and look new. My only thought was that because it’s a varmint rifle, it might have not been used as a bench rest rifle. Maybe I need to shoot it to find out.
I have been looking for a DGA in 280 cal. repeater action for a long time just because of sentimental thoughts. The issue with this action is no parts and Shilen will not touch it for repair. Its a great action and Gun if u can get 1000-1400 for it you have done well.A couple of DGA are on Gunbroker and been there awhile. The DGA stands for D@#N GOOD ACTION.
