What kind of steel was in the blade of the sword that Simon Peter used to hack off the ear of the High Priest's servant? Damascus? smile

The sword mentioned in the Gospels was not the military grade of weapon commonly used among Roman soldiers of their day. The Greek word for sword used in the New Testament is "macheira". A macheira is a domestic medium-sized blade knife, the equivalent of what we would call a utility knife today. These knives were almost exclusively used for cutting nets, fish, or skinning animals for clothing and food preparation. They were rarely, if ever, used as a weapon and especially not used for killing people.

Holding onto anger is like drinking poison and expecting the other the person to die ......
