Thinking about maybe procuring one for a river bottom black tail hammer. I like oddball stuff so this is right up my alley. Any thought one way or another? Thanks gents.

I had one for a few years. It was fun but the fore ends are prone to crack. Mine was surprisingly accurate. Hawk makes bullets for it and Quality Cartridge makes brass for it. I've heard of folks using 7.62x39 brass and 414 Supermag brass. Here's a link to a forum with some good information on the vintage semi autos. Vintage Semi Autos
Chronographs, bore scopes and pattern boards have broke a lot of hearts.
