I'm looking for a "cowboy camp" for my son. Something that teach's them outdoor skills, working with livestock, shooting, horsemanship, etc. Basically, I want something where he can be outside & live his cowboy dreams for at least a week or two. Any ideas?

Mike Parsons is a friend, who runs an outfitting business in Montana. Know he has done some things like this in the past but not sure if he does it now. If not, he should be able to refer you to someone who does a good job. Tell him Ray from Alabama (and Minnesota) said hello.

how old is he? Some friends of mine here is Wyoming have a ranch and they just hired a 17 year old from Oregon for the summer. The kid found out about them from some friends and called them up. He basically knew nothing about it, but he's got try and is willing to learn.

The YO ranch runs hunting, survival, and cowboy camps near Kerrville, Texas. My son did the hunting camp when he was 12, which was pretty spartan but a lot of fun. Got his hunter safety card and a nice Corsican ram in spot and stalk hunt. Lasts a week. Talked to some of the kids doing cowboy camp and they had a blast. I have a 16 year old son that has every opportunity to live the "outdoor" life. Hunting, fishing, farm/ranch stuuff...but he chooses playing heavy metal guitar. Wanna' trade?
