All:
Anyone have any experience with said pistol? I am thinking my wife’s friend might want to use it for concealed carry.
Thank you

I handled a couple of them a few years back and I thought they would make a good carry gun myself. They are expensive though

The double action only might need some training. But the ammo isn't going to break the bank. The weight, capacity(7?) is pretty awesome. Jury constantly debates the 22 mag for SD, but a person could do worse. I sometimes carry the 5 shot 38 +p version & wonder if the 7 shot 22 mag with well chosen ammo might be better. It would certainly be easier to control under recoil than the 38, And,,, offer 2 more shots.
Unless I were to move to Chicago, it should serve well.

the 22 magnum in short barreled revolvers is very very loud, then I cannot see why it would make a huge difference between that and the cheaper to practice with and find 22LR. The ruger lcr in 22LR would be my first pick for someone who could not tolerate the recoil of a 38 special, and today could not find the ammo for it either. Finally smith revolvers of late have had considerable quality problems, barrels over torqued, guns right out of the box that the trigger locks back on the very first shot, you would be better off with a manufacturer whose price is reflective of its quality. The smith guns price these days grossly exaggerate their quality. Today I would buy a ruger lcr, in that kind of a gun, there is just no point paying double to spin the roulette wheel on a Currently made smith revolver that will have to go back to the factory that they maybe will repair or maybe not. Did i mention I was not a big fan of 22 magnum in short barreled revolvers?

Had one, very loud with an equivalent muzzle blast.
Heavy double action pull, but it can be smoothed out.
The 22 Mag does have a bit of an advantage, not much though.

I'd get an LCR before I would that, and by a goodly margin.
Way too stout a trigger

Chrono shows that 22 WRM doesn't get much speed out of a short revolver - you'll get impressive blast and flash.
Just get an LCR 22 LR (8 shot) or if you handload, a good 32 S&W long 6 shot.

I knew a guy when I lived in Alaska that carried one of them in his back pocket all the time. When I asked him why he carried a 22 Magnum he said he’d been shot with a 22 Magnum once and it hurt like Hell! Good enough reason I guess.

Have shot both the S&W and the Ruger versions and MUCH prefer the Ruger LCR.
MUCH better DA trigger pull and sights. If this is for a woman, I would really suggest you try and find one and shoot before you buy.
Have a friend whose mother could no longer handle the recoil from a S&W 60-4 3" .38 Special and replaced it with a .22 Magnum....and had a VERY hard time with the DA trigger pull. This was before the LCR.
Depending on how it is to be used/carried one may also try and find the LCRX3"...
