Ok so I have the following dilemma.
I have a a Mk V 257 Bee Ultra lightweight rifle. It weighs 6.75 lbs sans scope. This is a tack driver. It is currently scoped with a Swarovski 3x9x36mm (duplex reticle) on Talley lightweight rings. This scope weighs 9 oz only.
The problem is this. With this scope I can not take advantage of the LR capability of the rifle/cartridge. No holdover points on the reticle and twisting turrets...well this scope is not meant for this.
If you were to replace the scope with a lightweight scope that you can either dial or take advantage of dots or hashmarks in the reticle what would it be.
Yes I love NF scopes but no I am not putting a 20z pig on a lightweight rifle.
Thanks in advance!
Many here on the fire don't want to hear this, but Leupold is the lightest scope going on average.

Might we inquire how far you wish to kill stuff with this rifle?
John I am thinking 600 and under How long a shot can't you make with the current scope? I took a chamois once on a German Alp back in approx '84... probably 200-220 meters at what seemed like mostly straight up from where I crawled... with nothing but a .308 lever-rifle and (I think) a 3-9x Bushnell ScopeChief (probably would have been the B&L version). Might well have been set to 3x, since that's where I usually carried it. Back before dialing and various reticles were invented, I think... Luckily the critter fell down the mountain to land within about 30 meters of where I stood... 'cause I couldn't really walk at that point, had cramps in both legs from the hike up, and literally had had to crawl to where I would finally shoot from. I wasn't particularly over-loaded and we'd (the jaeger and I) already dropped off much of our stuff at the overnight cabin about a mile back... but carrying less weight still would have been better. Anyway... I can mostly hit 200 meter targets all day long with just a peep sight, red dot, or a 1.5x... and a newer 2.5-8x is all I've really found necessary for something as big as a chamois/pronhorn/whitetail at reasonable distances... (Really don't mean to make it sound like I'm a great marksman or some such, though...) -Chris

A few stand out options are available but without a max range you intend to shoot some may be over kill and others might not be sufficient.
Thanks.
John I am thinking 600 and under You could just barley slide under 20oz with the Leupold VX5 HD 3-15X44mm. The illumination fixes the low light reticle issues with the Impact 29 reticle or the HTMR. 2 rotations on the elevation will get you way beyond 600yds for killin rocks and steel. CDS one rotation and that should take you to 800 or so with very fast elevation comps.

Get closer, supposed to be hunting not sniping. Quit being a lazy slacker and put in the effort to learn how to shoot.

A feller ought to have both arrows in his quiver, for maximum fun and maximum meat. Never know what the day will bring🤔

All other things being equal the hunter who can get closer is a better hunter.
All other things being equal the hunter who can shoot better is the better hunter.
Practice both.

Practice both. Freudian slip?😜 Third sentence is spot on. Would add: Know your limitations, and stay within them.

Heavier than you desire, but the Kahles 3 - 12 * 56 will always be my gold standard.
Minox ZA5 HD 3-15 1" tube is very light but I do not believe the quality that you desire. I own several.

If you are not actively engaging EVERY enemy you encounter... you are allowing another to fight for you... and that is cowardice... plain and simple.
