Have both and curious as well, have the Maven in hand and just ordered the Leupold. Have not had opportunity to use the Maven yet, not even mounted.

I have both. I’ve hunted the 2.5x8 Leupold for many years, I still have and hunt a couple of the older models, great scopes. I’ve hunted the Maven for 2yrs and these are my takes on it....great glass, very positive and true adjustments, but very short eye relief. I’m able to use it on a short action m70 with rear extended Talley lightweight rings(13.5” LOP), I couldn’t use it on a long action.

I looked at the Maven. It reminds me of the Weaver V10.

I cannot comment on the Maven scope but I am in process of replacing a Leupold VX3i 2.5-8x36 scope that I had for a few years. My assessment of the Leupold scope is that it’s a good short range hunting scope (less than 100yds). I did the set and forget thing and harvested multiple delicious boars with my 308 in very rough wooded terrain. I never had a problem with loss of zero. It has a great eyebox and good field-of-view for anything below 6x magnification but not so comfortable at higher magnification, and shortened eye relief is annoying at maximum magnification.

I replaced it two weeks ago with a Tract Toric 2-10x42. It has great field-of-view too, but it’s comfortable and clear at all magnifications with a constant eye relief of 4-inches throughout. I have a good impression out of my new Tract scope but of course only time will tell how good it really is. I’ve practiced a lot with it so I have some confidence but I’ll take it on its first boar hunt in two weeks so maybe I can say more after that.
