bought a big bag of dried [bleep] slices awhile back and was never satisfied with how they don't reconstitute. So today I dumped a bunch into beef-base in boiling water, then went at them with an immersion blender. Wound up with a thick, ultra-mushroom sauce which I served with grilled ribeyes, yellow squash
and whole "baby bellas". Everything off the grill in 15 minutes,
and the eaters are still grinning and groaning. Will try the dried mushroom sauce as a ragout-type thing, on chicken, etc...
