This isn't your normal flats type fishing. Last night I was fishing a flat at the mouth of a small creek, it was only about 4 ft deep and there were chum salmon spread accross the whole thing. My friend Jon and I were casting and catching fish all untill about 10:30 it was great. Sight casting the whole time. There's something exciting about watching a 15 lb Chum come chasing after your fly. I had more than one fish take my 8 wt straight to the backing, tail walking the whole time. I'll try to get some pics on here from tonight.
Deal with it.

I was prowling about the smooth evening waters of Juneau last evening also. Just bumming around without rod (or NR license), watching the dollies and or cutts work the surface. A fair caddisfly ovipositing event had the footers entertained in the pond I visited as well. The fish buzzards were training the young, dropping trout over the channel, making them work for their feed. All was right in my world. Bill
