I have this rifle, it’s a Sako Riimaki .222 Remington and I’d like to mount a scope. Which rings work for this rifle?

Search recent threads here for keywords SAKO, Leupold, Talley, OptiLock, Millett, Conetrol, and "vintage SAKO".
You'll find several choices...

I’ve searched for a while and I can’t seem to find a definitive answer. I’d like to only buy rings that will mount to the receivers dovetail, without buying a base too. I want to be sure and buy once. It seems that Sako actions are not all the same and rings from the different manufacturers may or may not fit a particular model. I know there are experts on here that could help.

Very cool little Sako. I have a pair of Leup/Sako rings that mount on the dovetail. While I don't currently own a Sako rifle, they worked when I did.

I think I have a few sets of original Sako rings with the high polish gloss finish if you are interested. They are lows and work great with a straight tube objective. PM me if you are interested.

I have a set of Sako lows and A set of Leupold mediums for mine. I use the low's with a Leupold compact 2-7 scope, it is a perfect match for the petite action. I did try a Leupold eyepiece is too large for me and the bolt would hit it with the lows and I had to build the comb up too much for my liking.

No it's an after market, someone had cut the stock short, and later added the pad to bring the length back to normal. Because of that I was able to get it very inexpensively which is fine for me as I need a shortened stock and just removed the pad and added a thin pad/plate.

Sound like a broken record, i know, but s&k. Kind of like a control, but flat rings, bases sized bit smaller and contoured. Have tried most others, but on this little action particularly, i like these; more tidy. P.S. the factory rings are neat, of course, have those as well, but still think the s&k’s are smaller, tidier.

I went with the Talley set up. I put a set of Talleys on last night. They look so good on rifles. They keep zero, they are light if weight is a concern.

Buy the old Sako Mounts , but watch the Screws ....they are SOFT ! Also , don't buy the "lows" . I know some wont believe this , but many years ago , I bought a 222 Sako like yours , It had a Unertl with Unertl Mounts on it ! Had to use wood blocks to carefully tap that darn Scope off that Sako .
